Antique Solid Mahogany Empire Revival Table by Tobey Hand Made Furniture 60. Turn-of-the-century Empire Revival solid mahogany pedestal table by Tobey Hand Made Furniture of Chicago Illinois. Famed for their high-end quality and work with some of the top architects and designers of the day, Tobey was a premier Chicago resource for furniture for nearly 100 years. This table has the simple, but heavy shapes of Empire Revival: a plain, skirted round top sitting on a massive central column. The base is a literal interpretation of 1840s American Empire furniture, and sits on bun feet that have recessed casters.

The piece is solid and stable - there are no structural issues. It has been refinished at some point, in a slightly lighter shade than its original finish. The areas of the base just over the bun feet have some professional repairs on the top corners (probably filler to fill some small chips), as this was an area where shoes tended to do damage. The top has some minor marks and scratches, but is overall extremely clean and displays well. There are some marks around the outer edge (you can see in the photos) where it has been sat on its side, again very small and minor.

There are no leaves, and the two halves have been secured with a metal strip and screws. Easily removed if you would like to have extensions made.

The "Tobey" label is under the top, on top of the base. Measurements: 60" in diameter, 29.5" high. The foot section of the table's base are 6 high. 34 from corner to corner.
